How to Get to Beaches Negril: Airport Distance, Transfer Time, and Why Families Love It
Getting There: Quick Flights and Stress-Free Transfers
Beaches Negril is one of the easiest family-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean to reach, especially for families who want less travel time and more beach time. You will fly into Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ), which is the main arrival point for U.S. and Canadian travelers.
When you land at Montego Bay’s Airport, you will go through Jamaican immigration and customs before collecting your luggage. The process is straightforward and usually friendly, especially for families. You will fill out a simple immigration form if you did not complete it digitally, and you will need your passports and return flight details. Customs is usually quick, with most tourists passing through in just a few minutes. (The last time we were in Jamaica, it was simple and pretty quick. It took us about 15 minutes in line and with the customs person, then we were on our way.)
Once you exit the customs area, keep an eye out for the Beaches Resorts Welcome Lounge, located right inside the arrival terminal. That lounge is your gateway to vacation mode, with cool towels, bottled water, and helpful staff ready to escort you directly to your complimentary Beaches Negril shuttle. Beaches makes this easy for you, and once the staff has your information, they guide you the entire way. Stress free. That’s the moment you officially switch from airport traveler to island vacationer.
Beaches Negril is only about an hour and a half from MBJ, making it one of the closest family-friendly luxury resorts to the airport. It’s worth the drive to get to Seven Mile Beach. With no complicated taxi arrangements, no juggling kids and luggage in parking lots, enjoy the ride along Jamaica’s northwest coast, courtesy of your included Beaches transportation. Everything is taken care of when you book through Beaches. Don’t forget to tip your driver. They are not paid by Beaches Resorts, FYI. Oh, I checked it out for you. If you want to walk from the airport, it’s only a 17-hour hike.

Beaches: The Beachfront Resort That Knows What Families Need
Beaches Negril sits directly along the famous Seven Mile Beach, known for its powder-soft sand and shallow, swimmable waters. The resort is intentionally designed for families. Wide pathways, walkable layout, restaurants clustered near pools and beaches, and everything within strolling distance. You do not need to drive a golf cart to breakfast. That’s a vacation win. All of the rooms at Beaches Negril are 100% new, and suites.
There are room categories for families of every size, including rooms with separate sleeping areas for kids, adjoining suites, and stunning beachfront walkouts. Want to check availability and browse? I recommend looking directly at the Beaches Negril booking page. Or just contact me and I can find the best fit for your family.
Waterparks, Sesame Street, Teens, and No-Limits Fun
Kids do not just stay busy at Beaches Negril. They thrive there! The Pirates Island Waterpark is fun for every age, with twisting slides, splash playgrounds, lazy rivers, pop-up ice cream spots, and even surf simulators at some Beaches locations. The kids camp entertains all ages of kids, all day long!
Younger kids get Sesame Street-themed shows, parades, and character meetups. You can even book a Sesame Street “Nighttime Tuck-In” where Elmo or Abby actually greets your child before bed. And yes, that is included.
Teens have their own world. Xbox Lounge. DJ-powered Club Liquid. Beach volleyball. Kayaking. Snorkeling. Paddleboarding. Unlimited scuba for certified divers. All of this is part of the Beaches Resorts experience, so you never have to pull out your wallet or sign a charge slip.
Here is the full activity lineup, straight from Beaches: all-inclusive activities at Beaches Negril.

Dining Designed for Every Taste (Including Picky Kids and Parents)
One of my favorite things about Beaches Negril is how family-friendly the dining is without feeling like a kids-only buffet line. You get gourmet restaurants, casual beachfront grills, smoothie spots, sushi, barbecue, Italian classics, and Jamaican jerk huts. All included.
My wife orders Caribbean seafood at the resort, and my vegetarian son finds wood-fired pizza, grilled veggies, and pasta options all over the place. What’s on my menu? Everything. That’s my favorite part of the all-inclusive experience! The jerk chicken at the Jerk Shack has to be my favorite, though.

Why Families Love Beaches Negril
Beaches Negril blends Jamaican beauty with family practicality. It is close to the airport, transfers are effortless, the resort is walkable, and the beach is dreamy. Kids are happy from morning to bedtime. Parents get actual downtime, not just “watch-the-kids-by-the-pool” time.
